Engineered Harvest.
The identity system, the art direction, and how AIREI looks and sounds on every surface it appears — website, magazine, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and WhatsApp. Prepared by Huemankind for AIREI Sdn. Bhd.
The idea
Two truths in tension: what is grown — fruit, estates, three generations of palm-oil knowledge — and what is engineered — vision systems, telemetry, a mill that thinks.
Every decision in this system holds both. The warmth of the land lives in the photography and the serif; the discipline of the control room lives in the mono numerals, the hairlines and the data. Nothing here is decoration — the visual language is the product argument.
What the brand must communicate
- Proven, not promised. A working mill, real numbers, a minister at the launch.
- Engineered by people who grew up in it. Third-generation, not Silicon Valley.
- Measurable. Every claim carries its number, and every published number carries a source line naming the site, the period and the method. Figures supplied by AIREI are marked client-reported until documentary evidence is approved for publication.
- Malaysian, exporting. Built here, deployed to Latin America.
Logo
The mark is already right — a triangle built from an A, in your blue. What is missing is a system around it. Below is the primary lockup as it exists, plus the reversed version you do not currently have, which is why the logo currently disappears on any dark surface.
Existing asset. Descriptor legible on white and light grounds.
Derived by Huemankind: descriptor lifted to paper white, brand blue retained, mid-grey lifted for contrast. Required for the website, decks and social.
Clear space
Minimum clear space on all sides equals the height of the triangle mark. Nothing — type, rules, image edges — enters that field.
Minimum size
Full lockup: 132 px / 34 mm wide. Below that the descriptor becomes unreadable — use the mark alone, minimum 24 px.
Which to use where
Lockup for site headers, decks and letterheads. Mark alone for avatars, favicons, app icons, video bugs and the pack QR corner.
Never place the primary lockup on a dark or busy photograph — use the reversed version. Never recolour the triangle. Never stretch, rotate, add effects, outline, or re-typeset the wordmark. Never rebuild the lockup by typing “AIREI” in another face — the serif with wide tracking is the asset.
Colour
Nothing invented. This system is read out of your own assets: the Elementor kit (primary and accent), the wordmark blue, and the gold that already lives in the MyPalm product mark. It is then given roles, proportions and contrast rules.
Proportion — the 60/30/10 discipline
Crude Amber #C88828 scores 2.87:1 on this paper
— below the 3:1 floor WCAG sets for icons and UI. It stays magnificent on navy (4.37:1). So the system carries a second
amber, Deep Amber #9A6B12 (4.68:1), for every amber element on a light surface. One brand
colour, two tuned values — this is what separates a system from a palette.
Amber is an accent metal, not a colour field. It appears on stat numerals, hairlines, one highlighted chart series, active nav underline and primary buttons — never as a background, never as body text, never in a gradient.
Contrast, computed
| Pair | Ratio | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| Mill Navy on Kernel White | 13.1:1 | AAA · body and headlines |
| Signal Blue on Kernel White | 8.0:1 | AAA · links, buttons |
| Control Blue on Kernel White | 5.2:1 | AA · UI labels ≥14px |
| Crude Amber on Deep Water | 6.3:1 | AA+ · stat numerals on dark |
| Crude Amber on Kernel White | 2.87:1 | FAILS the 3:1 icon floor — large display numerals only |
| Deep Amber on Kernel White | 4.68:1 | AA · use this for amber icons, links and labels on light |
| Mill Steel on Kernel White | 5.0:1 | AA · captions ≥14px |
| Signal Blue on Mill Navy | 1.64:1 | Never — effectively invisible |
Green lives in the photography — the estate, the canopy, the fruit — never in painted panels or buttons. The interface stays navy. This is what separates a premium agri-tech brand from a government agency.
Typography
Four families, three jobs. Fraunces carries editorial and brand surfaces; Hanken Grotesk is the technical cut for dark product surfaces where a serif reads decorative; Schibsted Grotesk sets all running text; Geist Mono carries every number. All are open-licence, CDN-loadable, together under 300 KB. If you prefer a three-family system, drop Hanken and set dark surfaces in Fraunces 350 — that is a calibration-week decision, and the pitch deck shows that three-family variant.

Why Fraunces
A soft old-style serif with Windsor/Cooper warmth — it reads as land and heritage without becoming rustic. Its optical-size axis means one family works from an 9pt footnote to a 120pt cover.
Why Hanken Grotesk
The technical cut for dark surfaces and product UI, where a serif would read decorative. Neutral, dense, legible at speed.
Why Geist Mono
Mono numerals are the industrial credibility signal. Every OER figure, batch ID, coordinate and timestamp sets in it, with tabular figures so animated counters never jitter.
Banned: Inter, Poppins, Montserrat, Open Sans — the template-tier defaults that instantly place a brand below the bar its product deserves.
Icons
A 28-icon working set on a 24×24 grid, 1.6 px stroke, square caps and mitred joins — the engineered corner that echoes the triangle in your mark. Drawn from Lucide (ISC licence, free for commercial use), tuned to brand stroke settings.
The four custom marks
Rules
One stroke weight everywhere (1.6 px at 24 px, scaling
proportionally). Never mix outline and filled. Icons take Mill Navy on paper, Kernel White on dark,
and Crude Amber only when the icon marks the active or highlighted state — and on light surfaces amber icons use Deep Amber
#9A6B12, never Crude Amber.
One exception, stated: Lucide ships no brand marks. The WhatsApp glyph comes from Simple Icons and is filled, not stroked — so it is treated as a logo and used only inside the WhatsApp button itself. Everywhere else the stroke chat icon is used instead.
Sizing & spacing
16 px inline with text, 24 px in lists and UI, 32–40 px as section markers. Minimum 12 px clear space from type; never centred inside a coloured circle — that is the SaaS-template tell.
Custom marks — drawn, not described
Four icons unique to AIREI, authored on Lucide’s exact 24×24 grid so they interleave with the library set with no visible seam. Each was rendered and inspected at 32/24/20/16 px before being accepted — which caught two defects that path maths alone would have shipped.
Image art direction
Canonical — this supersedes the three-tier description in the pitch deck. Every photograph passes through one of four treatments before it is published. This is what makes a mixed archive — phone shots, press photos, drone footage, product renders — read as one brand. Grain is always on.

saturate(1.04) contrast(1.08) brightness(.96) + amber overlay 8% + grain
rgba(0,50,90,.26) multiply + grain
sepia(.22) saturate(1.1) hue-rotate(-8deg) + grain
Deep Water floors the blacks, warm gold caps the highlights
Framing — the five rules
- Off-centre thirds. The subject occupies one third; the empty two-thirds is where the copy lives. Never equal margins.
- Fill the frame for material truth. Macro crops of fruitlets, steel, oil sheen.
- Edge-crop to imply scale. Let the bunch or the vessel run off two frame edges.
- Negative space is premium. One object, one navy field, nothing else.
- Recur the same object at different crops down a page — macro fruitlet, half bunch, whole bunch on the ramp, mill context.
Grain, always — and it must be overlay
Inline SVG feTurbulence, fractalNoise, baseFrequency 0.9, 4 octaves,
desaturated, tiled at 140 px, on a ::after with mix-blend-mode: overlay
and isolation: isolate on the parent.
Not multiply. Multiply can only darken, so monochrome noise reads as a flat dulling rather than grain — measured against a mill photograph it was effectively invisible. Overlay adds both light and dark speckle, which is what the eye reads as film.
Measured opacity ladder on the same photograph: 0.20–0.30 is the editorial band; 0.50 is visible haze, acceptable on a hero; 0.75 lifts the blacks milky. A coarse variant (baseFrequency 0.45, 200 px tile, 0.75) reads as newsprint halftone — the rescue treatment for low-quality press photos, which makes degradation look intentional.
What we never publish
Untreated photos from different sources on one screen. Stock people in hard hats pointing at clipboards. Renders where a real photograph exists.
The founder rule, precisely. Documentary and editorial photography of Suren must be real photography — never generated, never composited. That is a separate thing from the Palm School licensed likeness in section 11, which he records, approves script by script, and which carries an AI-assisted disclosure wherever it is published. Two different jobs, two different rules: photography documents; the licensed likeness teaches, with consent and disclosure.
Layout & motion
The structural rules
- Hairlines, not cards. Sections are separated by 1 px rules, whitespace and type-scale jumps — not boxes with rounded corners.
- Numbered indices. Mono section numbers (01, 3.2, T1) are the structural rhythm.
- Square corners or 2–4 px radii maximum. Never 12–16 px pills.
- Asymmetric grids. 1.2fr / 1fr, never three equal columns.
- Full-bleed and contained, alternating — the page must breathe between cinematic moments.
Motion — four moves, no more
- One hero film or slow media drift per page.
- Stat counters that count up when they enter view.
- One continuous marquee (credentials or telemetry).
- One signature interaction — the grading scan reveal.
Transform and opacity only, 600–700 ms,
cubic-bezier(.16,1,.3,1). Banned: parallax everywhere, cursor followers, 3D blobs,
scroll-jacking, dissolve slideshows.
The AIREI Magazine
The blog is not a blog. It is an industry magazine that happens to be published by the company that built the first AI mill — editorial register, numbered issues, drawn infographics, and a masthead. This is how a vendor becomes the industry’s reference.
What one point of OER is
actually worth to a 60 t/hr mill
Minsawi gained 1.17 points in twelve months. Here is the arithmetic, the three places it came from, and what it means for a mill that has never measured its losses.
Article anatomy
Kicker → headline → standfirst → byline with portrait → hero image with a real caption → body at 55 ch (which renders ~69 real characters — see the note) → one drawn figure → pull quote → sources line → one gated next step. Never a wall of text with a stock photo on top.
Index, not card grid
The hub reads as a magazine contents page — numbered entries, hairlines, one large featured image, mixed sizes — not a three-column grid of equal cards with rounded corners.
The measure trap
Never set a measure in ch without measuring the
actual face. Canvas-measured with fonts loaded: Fraunces 300 @19 px has a zero-width of 9.50 px but an
average prose character width of 7.66 px — so 66ch renders about 82
characters, well past the 65–75 editorial band. Conversion: ch = target ÷ 1.24. Body
55ch, deck 39ch, headline 18ch. A Georgia fallback runs 1.39× — ~12% longer lines
than Fraunces for the identical value.
Drawn data
Two inks plus amber. Serif numerals for headline figures, mono for axes and labels. One highlighted series per chart. Annotated diagrams beat decorative charts — the reader must learn something from the picture alone.
The boardroom channel, and the one surface where your market is addressable by name and job title. Today: 1,722 followers, event posts only, zero ads. The system below turns it into the primary pipeline surface.
A 41-year-old mill now pays itself back in under two years. Not a render — a running facility in Kuala Kangsar. The maths, slide by slide ↓
pays for itself.
The five post archetypes
- Result card — one number, one sentence, the source line.
- Document carousel — 8–10 pages, one idea per page, 28 pt minimum type, CTA on the last page.
- Founder POV — first person, from Suren’s profile, no company voice.
- Myth-bust — a belief the industry holds, answered with data.
- Field note — a photograph from a real mill with a working caption.
Cadence & craft
Cadence is set by the engaged package — 15 posts (Growth) or 18 (Authority), plus one long-form article, per the quotation. Hook in the first 140 characters — the fold is unforgiving. Document carousels outperform single images for technical proof. Company page carries the system; the founder carries the voice.
Instagram & the feed system
A nine-tile rhythm so the grid reads as one editorial system at a glance: photograph, knowledge static, quote · knowledge, episode, photograph · knowledge, photograph, data.
MILL // KKNoticeable improvement in both OER and KER levels.
MD, PERAK MOTOR POM
PALM SCHOOL · EP 01
STN 01 // GRADING0 tangan.4-TIER VISION
ESTATE // DAWNFormats
Feed 4:5 (1080×1350) as default — it occupies the most screen. Reels and Stories 9:16 with a 250 px top and 420 px bottom safe zone. Carousels for the knowledge series.
Bilingual by design
BM carries the field voice, EN the boardroom. The knowledge statics are the ones that travel — write them in BM first.
The safe-zone grid
One template family renders across 4:5, 1:1 and 9:16: the eyebrow sits top-left, the number in the optical centre, the source line bottom-left, the mark bottom-right — all inside the 9:16 safe box so nothing is ever cropped away.
Palm School with Suren
A named show, not loose videos: its own title card, numbered episodes, consistent framing, EN and BM cuts. Four a month, produced from the calibrated digital twin with Suren approving every script and every render.
Craft specification
- Framing. Medium close-up, eyes on the upper third, mill or plantation depth behind, never a green screen.
- First three seconds. Open on the question, not the greeting. “A point of OER is worth RM2.6 million. Here is where it hides.”
- Length. 45–60 s for TikTok and Reels, 3–5 min for YouTube and LinkedIn.
- Captions. Burned-in, Hanken Grotesk 780, two lines maximum, amber for the number.
- Every episode ends on one takeaway card and one next step.
- Disclosure. Every avatar video carries an AI-assisted mark — trust is the product.

WhatsApp — the agentic assistant
Your three widget buttons currently route to one number with every working-day toggle switched off. This replaces it with an AI customer-service agent on the official WhatsApp Business API — answering, qualifying, booking, following up, and handing to a human with full context.
So I can be precise: is your grading currently manual, or do you already have a weighbridge system?
I can put 30 minutes with one of our engineers in your calendar, or send the mill readiness checklist first. Which is more useful?
What the assistant does
- Answers from your knowledge base — specs, dose tables, station lists, FAQs, in English and Bahasa Melayu.
- Qualifies without a form — role, facility type, throughput, current process, captured conversationally.
- Books — drops a live calendar into the chat rather than promising a callback.
- Follows up — re-engages quiet leads on a schedule, and nudges clients awaiting replies.
- Escalates — hands to a named human with the full transcript and a one-line summary.
Guardrails
- It answers only from approved material. Anything outside it escalates — it does not invent specifications, prices or agronomic advice.
- Every conversation is visible in a shared team inbox; a human can take over mid-sentence.
- PDPA: consent recorded at first contact, retention and deletion policy documented.
Broadcast
How it works
Meta-approved message templates sent to contacts with recorded opt-in, segmented by audience — mills, dealers, estates, government. Not a scraped list; a permission asset you build.
What it is used for
EUDR deadline reminders, a new case study, an invitation to a mill open day, the monthly magazine issue, a product release. Value first, always — the moment it reads as spam, the quality rating falls and reach follows.
The honest constraint
Messaging limits start at a tier and rise with quality rating and volume history. We manage the rating and the ramp; nobody starts unlimited, and any agency that promises otherwise is describing a ban.
What we need to build it
Assets
- Logo in vector (AI, EPS or SVG) — everything here is rebuilt from a 300 px PNG.
- Any existing brand guideline, however partial.
- Mill and field footage, product photography, the two white papers.
- Approved product documentation for the assistant’s knowledge base.
Decisions
- Sign-off on the reversed lockup, or supply an official one if it exists.
- Permission to publish the Minsawi figures as a named case study.
- A WhatsApp number not already on the consumer app, and one named owner per line.
- A half-day with Suren for the founder calibration and the first magazine interview.
Fix the two-word typo in your contact form’s first dropdown, and switch your WhatsApp widget’s working-day toggles on. Every enquiry from every channel funnels there.
